Welcome
to my 'little corner of the web' where I share some
of the things that I enjoy doing with my computer.
You see, I am a computer junkie. I had my first
experience with a computer in the early '80s. It did
not even have a hard drive. Every thing was saved to
a tape cassette. Everything was written line by
line. In the mid '80s, I got a real computer and
taught myself to use it. Learned Lotus by reading
the help files and playing around. I then purchased
Microsoft Works and compiled all my recipes into a
data base. I then printed a cook book for my girls
and friends.
In the mid '90s, I discovered web
pages. I was hooked! The recipe book in now online
and things grew from there. I took classes online
and eventually enrolled in the local college and
later a vocational school. There I learned to use
Microsoft Office, Paint Shop Pro and to hand code
web pages. Recently, I completed several on line
classes in writing web pages. This site is written using
Microsoft FrontPage, cascading style sheets, themes,
templates, and hand coding in HTML-Kit. Graphics were created
using Paint Shop Pro and Adobe Photoshop.

Digital Scrapbooking
I recently discovered digital
scrapbooking. Again I was hooked! After a few months
of purchasing and using others kits, I decided to
try my hand at designing my own kits. In January, I
became involved in writing web pages for a digital
scrapbooking site - DigiZines. Then in May, I put my
first kits online for sale. Still learning and
enjoying very much my NEW hobby. I have included
some of my examples on this site.
Custom
Templates for Zen Cart
My latest project was creating
templates for a Scrapbooking News Letter for
TheDailyScrapper. I also setup and customized a
shopping cart for
TheDailyScrapper.

Poetry and 'sayings'
In learning to create pages for my web sites, I
combined my interest in poetry and 'sayings' with
creating graphics. If you would like to share
your favorite poem or saying, please, e-mail them to
me. I will try to include them here. |
Things I Enjoy
My other passions are Husband, Children,
Grandchildren, my Rottweiler dogs (Taylor, Sassie,
and Pug), my cat (Cleopatra), crafts, painting,
gardening, building and repairing computers, and
working on a cook book that I made for my girls.
The cook book is now located on this site, so others
my view or submit to it. My newest hobby (or should
I call it a passion?) is quilting. Check out some of
them at the link above. I will be adding pages
relating to each of these subjects later. I am also
learning to make digital Scrapbooking pages. I just
completed several online classes in writing HTML,
XHTML, CSS and designing web pages. |
Lindsey Brooke
When I started this site, I wanted to make pages for
my each of my Grandchildren. The one that I am
working on now is not what I had in mind. The page
for my granddaughter, Lindsey Brooke, is a memorial
page. We lost her to a drunk driver on May 8,
1999. Please share with me the memories of
a beautiful, loving 12 year old. I have included
poems written by her friends, ones I found,
pictures, and graphics made for her. |
Timmy
My eldest grandson, Timmy. He is now eighteen and a
senior. He is active in the Bata Club (a special
honor for outstanding students) at the Ripley High
School. He is in advanced classes and making
outstanding grades. He has even started taking some
college classes. He plans to attend University of
Tennessee at Martin next year. He also works at
Crain Pharmacy after school and week-ends.
Update: Timmy is now a
freshman at Dyersburg State and making outstanding
grades. |
Cameron
My youngest grandson, Cameron is currently very
active various sports. He is currently High School.
He enjoys anything to do with nature and outdoor
activities. He is currently on the High School Golf
Team. He is very active in FFA.
Cedie
My newest granddaughter is almost
13. She just recently joined our family. She is into
scrapbooking (the old fashion way), She is a very
talented singer and dancer. Cut as a button and can
really light up a room. |
